As usual, we weren't able to get up. Once everyone got up we had breakfast, and we gathered our stuff. The alotted time for the meetup was 12:30 at Spitalfield Market, but we were there around 13.00. Now I hate being late, but it couldn't be helped. The searching for the teacher alone already took like 15 minutes (because 2 people don't really stand out in a crowd). But eventually we found them, and our presence was checked off the attendance list.
This is when we actually walked around the market. I saw some real market stables, but mostly it was just real shops and not really market-worthy. But it was fun walking around there! There was this one particular stable that sold treats. Not too pricey, too. Almost everyone had a nice treat. We had lunch on the park-ish centre, and because Spitalfield wasn't that big we were thinking of what to do next. And after some discussing, we reached a conclusion; we were going to Harrods.
For those who don't know what Harrods is, it is kind of like a Bijenkorf we have in the Netherlands. Only three times as big, and ten times as expensive. Seriously, who is even able to buy a fleece plaid for "just" 1489 pounds (I must say, it was the softest material I ever felt regarding fleece)!? Anyway, we went in. And then I separated myself from the group. I should not have done that. I repeat: I should not have done that. I got lost, and I lost everyone as well.
I did buy a nice bag and a pen though. Yet I was still separated from the others! I just called to ask where they were. And even when I knew where they were, I still had to search for them since the stories are huge. Believe me, I was so happy when I finally found everyone! I think we walked around there for a good 2 hours (and we didn't even see half of it...), and then decided it was time to go home. Oh, and a little tip: Don't you even try to take the tube around 6:00, since there is next to no space to even get on. It was a real challenge to get home!
Okay, we got home. Next point of discussion; what to eat? There were several options, but we went for the real British one... Fish and Chips! I went out with two others to get it for everyone, and we discovered that Poppies (no.1 in the UK regarding Fish and Chips) was really close. So we went there. 5 wanted to try it without vinegar (which is normal on F&C), and 2 (including myself - I felt I had to try the 'real' thing) with vinegar. And god, I loved it! I didn't expect to like it since everyone told me it is actually pretty gross, but I loved it!

Anyway, I have no clue at what time everyone went to bed, since I kicked the people out of the living room because I wanted to sleep (I sleep on the couch, remember?). They just moved their stuff to the boys' room. I woke up aroung 9 today, and everyone is still sound asleep (it is 9.53 now). So... We'll see what today is going to bring!
Have a nice day everyone!
Love,
Gabe

BeantwoordenVerwijderenHé LEO jij betaald mijn ticket als in je op moet komen halen.... SVP een beetje voorzichtig zijn! xxx
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBe careful with showers, they always make it terribly dangerous to get out of the bathtub. Also where the hell did you guys get all the booze? Aren't you supposed to be 21 to get that in England? Anyways, good story, nice bag and you should try fish fingers with custard next!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHeya! We got booze at the supermarket, and appearantly you have to be 18 for alcohol in the UK. Don't cofuse this with the USA, since you have to be indeed 21 for alcohol there! I'd try the fish fingers with custard next time, it's just that I don't like custard at all ;p
